The Demise of Craic Wisely creates The Sivs [Nov. 11th, 2009|09:55 am]

[Tags|, ]

Well, Craic Wisely may be lost to the winds of change and time (for now), but their demise gives birth to their new form The Sivs who are releasing/have released a new CD "Derelict Diner" as well.

The Sivs
"Derelict Diner"

The music: There's something deliciously British-sounding about the debut from Grand Rapids' The Sivs, a four-piece rock group featuring Craic Wisely frontman Todd Herring, guitarist Vincent DeVito, drummer Christopher Morse and bassist Peter Fox (with production by Brian Zieske and bass work/writing by David Zeyl). Sort of like Michigan's version of The Verve. Powerfully dark, this is commanding, distinctive music with a retro bite.
Get it: iTunes.com amazon.com
Spinfo: thesivs.com, myspace.com/thesivslive

... Is it just me, or does it sound like they could also be a good Caroline Spine cover band too?
... I would also like to add that Todd's style is exactly the type of singing that kills me in Rock Band. XD

The Last Craic Wisely Show (ever?) [Sep. 25th, 2009|07:50 pm]
Craic Wisely fan blog

.. that certainly seems to be the implication here.

at 10:00pm, on Saturday, September 25, Craic Wisely will perform their last scheduled show at the Kalamazoo Irish Festival.

... now, there seems to be a little back-tracking on whether or not this will be the last show Craic Wisely will ever play.  They still intend to hang out, jam together, and whatnot, but this may be the end of doing "tours" or the likes.  Who knows, they may still show up from time to time to play at Quinn & Tuites, or make an appearance at some festival somewhere, or an impromptu performance at some pub... but if you want to catch them as they are, in their last Hoorah, check out the show on Saturday, if you can make it.  Make a good showing for those of us who won't be able to make it.

CRAIC WISELY on ST. PATRICK'S DAY (you hear?) [Mar. 8th, 2008|02:12 am]

[mood |drunkCraic'n]

 Are you a Craic Head?
If not, feel free to ignore this message. ;)

Craic Wisely will be playing at The Black Rose on St. Patrick's Day around 2 or 3pm.  I don't have any other info other than that at the moment.  I don't know what cover is, but there will be some Craic Heads there for sure.

Craic Wisely will also be playing at The Intersection on the same day, several hours later (probably around 7 or 8pm?)
The good news?

We have a section for 25 Craic Heads near the band on one of the raised sections.
From 2pm until 2am (or whenever it all ends)
Cost to get in is still $5 at the door
Emily is to thank for getting the area, so give her a buck or two to cover the cost of the reserved section when you hop in.

Maybe we'll try to make up some stickers or something.  Any suggestions?  Maybe an anchor and rooster?

Will the band have their 5-song CD done by then?

More info to come as we know about it over at...

Craic Wisely January 19th Show was great! [Jan. 19th, 2008|04:00 pm]
Craic Wisely fan blog

So you didn't come out to The Black Rose on Friday for the Craic Wisely show?  How sad.  You missed a great show, but the weather did kinda suck.

In conclusion?... A great show.  The band seems to have hit their groove and even if their sound is slightly changing, they do sound more professional.  They were VERY lucky to have Dianne on stage and I hope that they bring her back for more fiddling.  If you didn't come out because of the weather, I don't blame ya, but you did miss a great show and your presence was missed.

Their next show is at Quinn and Tuite's on February 9th.  There's a $7 cover.  I don't have a time yet.

www.CRAICSTUFF.com your last source for Craic Wisely on the net?! [Jan. 14th, 2008|05:19 pm]
Craic Wisely fan blog

... okay, so maybe there is still their MySpace and a few other sites out there, but it seems that www.craicwisely.com has gone down.  With John out of the band (and also being their web guy), I had a fear that they might find some web problems.  I don't think I was expecting it to happen so quickly though.

Then again there's the possiblity that this is just a transition as they put up another version of the site.... but we'll see.
